Elizabeth Im
Elizabeth is a PhD student in the Neuroscience area in the Department of Psychology. She is interested in the intersection of visual experience and the development of the visual system, and computational modeling. Her current research focuses on going beyond lab environments to capture more naturalistic experiences in children using egocentric video and gaze data, to understand how social and visual experiences during development impact the brain. Elizabeth holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Cognitive Science and Medicine, Science, and the Humanities (MSH) from Johns Hopkins University. Before starting her PhD, she worked with Dr. Leyla Isik in the Computational Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at Johns Hopkins and investigated the neural basis of social interaction perception in young children. Fun fact about Elizabeth is that she would like to write a coming-of-age fiction someday under a pen name.
