Marcel Linka
Marcel is a postdoctoral fellow interested in the interplay between visual experience and the neural activity underlying high-level visual processing. In the lab, he studies how changes in our visual diet shape neural activity in the visual cortex across development. Previously, Marcel’s work focused on individual differences in visual attention, including studies with special populations such as so-called super-recognizers. He has also investigated how visual attention develops and changes across the lifespan, combining eye tracking, psychophysics, and computational modeling. Marcel earned his PhD at Justus Liebig University working with Ben de Haas, after completing his BSc at Tilburg University and MSc at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Apart from research, Marcel enjoys traveling, making music, and spending time with family and friends.
